What is the TreeProject Portal?
The TreeProject Portal is a suite of interconnected, user-friendly web applications designed to streamline distributed volunteers and revegetation. Born from the need to manage a large-scale, community-based revegetation program, the Portal has proven its worth in practice. Users can access the Portal on a mobile, tablet or desktop
Volunteer Portal
The Volunteer Portal supports self organising groups so that they can contribute to the organisation. Groups can be set up for any purpose but some common examples are Fundraising, Marketing and Media, Supporter Meetups, Technology Support, Special Interest Groups)
It is based on the following principles:
- TreeProject supporters want to volunteer
- Volunteers want to contribute in areas they are comfortable with (may be groups or individuals)
- Some volunteers want ongoing groups whereas others want “one time” activities
- Volunteers may leave at any time and all groups will have a drop off rate.
Volunteers can use a mobile, tablet or desktop to:
- Apply to join a volunteer group relating to their interest (e.g. fundraising, comms, admin)
- Apply to help coordinate the group
- Meet with others in the group using Teams and to store documents (SharePoint)
- Report back to committee on a monthly basic using a simple online form
Volunteer Groups are:
- Set up by an Administrator
- Have a Liaison Officer who is a staff or committee member
Grower Portal
The Grower Portal is designed to allow distributed growers to grow seedlings. Growers are organised into grower groups and each grower group has a Coordinator.
Growers can use a mobile, tablet or desktop to:
- Apply to grow
- Select a kit pick up date
- Record the date the seedlings are sown
- Complete a Seedling Growth Reports (3 throughout season)
- Seedling Growth Numbers + photo of each species
- Numbers and photos can be reviewed by Coordinators
- Complete a Seedling Handover Report
Coordinators can
- Keep track of their grower group
- See regular growth numbers and photos
- Coordinate seedlings for planting
